I went to the Chalmette, La. 70043 store. I had purchased a watermelon. The watermelon was no good, so I went to return it. I walked up to the customer service dept and was met by a gentleman who said customer service was closed. I explained to him that I wanted to return the watermelon. I asked him what should I do. He said, “I don’t know!” So he proceeds to start making unprofessional remarks. He then tells me to go to another store up the street. Where up the street, I have no idea? When I told him about his professionalism, he then announces, the system is down. Then he continues his unprofessional attitude. He could have avoided all this had he knew how to resolve an issue that is a store problem, not a customer problem. I then wanted to speak with a manager so, I walked up to the gentleman, checking out customers as they leave. I asked the gentleman who was the manager. To my surprise, he said the gentleman I was talking to was the manager. I asked him what was the guy’s name and he said, “Miss, I don’t get involved in that. He’s got a name tag.” If it were me, I would have explained that the store was having computer problems. I would have given the customer a receipt endorsing that I saw the condition of the melon, and the customer could bring in the endorsed receipt and get a store credit or her money back. Whoever he is, he would not represent the face of the customer service dept. of my store. Maybe he would be a better fit in the dept. that does not interact with people.

I just moved to Chalmette, my husband and I. It’s a breath of fresh air, honestly! The people here are so nice and the area where ai stay is peaceful. I absolutely love the walmart here. The people are very welcoming, friendly and very respectful. So far, I have no complaints. Keep up the good work guys because you are appreciated!

My son purchased a “NEW” window unit from Walmart in Chalmette. There was a very used air conditioner inside of the taped box and they refused to exchange it. They are the actual thieves because people work too hard for them to sell you used/poor quality products. If we wanted something used we could have just gotten it from the pawn shop. This is extremely ridiculous and unacceptable.

Offers a wide variety of products and services, could be a little better with the attitude of employees, but other than that its a good store for what it is. Would be awesome if they'd put it back the way it was before they moved everything around. Now its harder to find the items im looking for.

At 4:40pm on Jan 23 I placed a curbside order at this location for pickup between 8-9pm. I arrived shortly after 8, there were few other cars waiting, but then got a msg saying new pickup time would be 8:29. So I went inside to pick up a few more things. As I was coming out by 8:30, I asked one of two pickup guys if they knew the status of the order. They had trouble finding it at first (one of them found that funny) but the other assured me the order was in progress. But by 9pm, still no order. Now I could understand that if there were many customers waiting, but the thing is I WAS THE ONLY CAR OUT THERE WAITING. So I contacted a rep via chat who was also of NO help. After checking on the order, he eventually tells me the order is ready, but that I NEEDED TO GO INSIDE TO GET IT. What? After an hour of waiting?? Meanwhile another car drives up and they bring that order out right away. So I LEFT. There's a word for that kind of inconsiderate incompetence. But it's not one I'd utter in polite company. MINUS five stars if I could.
