I shop at the Walmart Supercenter on East Independence pretty regularly, and overall it’s a solid location. The store is kept up pretty well for the most part. There are minor cleanliness issues here and there, but nothing that would stop me from coming back. The cashiers I’ve interacted with have always been nice, polite, and helpful, which makes a big difference. I also like that there’s a Woodforest National Bank and a Subway inside—it’s convenient to knock out multiple things in one trip. Prices are decent, and they usually have a good inventory and selection, so I can find what I need without too much trouble. One downside is that WIC items aren’t clearly labeled, which can make shopping a bit more time-consuming. Also, the Walmart app can be a little faulty at times, especially when using Walmart Pay. Overall, still a reliable spot for everyday shopping.

Having good collection and products. Staffs are good. Overall good experience. Clearance sell is going on there.

My husband bought HP ink with all 4 colors for over $100 at this Walmart. When he got home and opened it, there was a knock off brand inside the box and only 3 of the 4 colors included. When we brought back the box and receipt to try to get a refund or exchange the product the staff did not care and did nothing to rectify the situation. We essentially got scammed and the ink he bought for our HP printer won’t even fit into our printer because it’s an off brand. Wasted $100.

Independence - 3850 E Independence Blvd Charlotte NC 28205 UPDATE: 03.04.2026 Signs read Grand ReOpening - May 8, 2026 - THEY have ALOT of work to do. Outside construction is a one way mess. Parking is limited. FULL stocking needs to happen. NEW Management TEAM put in place with required goals and action items to be met AND maintained on a consistent basis. UPDATE: Sunday, October 19, 2025 - aprox 3:00PM Outside and Inside complete and TOTAL CHAOS - see pics 1. Look how many carts are outside 2. Security in car, head down on phone 3. Store Greeter head down on phone 4. OVER 160 people in check out lines 5. Only 1 self check out section open across from Subway 6. Self Check out CLOSED DOWN across from Customer Service - BECAUSE THE STORE RAN OUT OF REGISTER TAPE......how does Walmart run out of register tape??????? 7. Went to Customer Service to complain, Employee is checking out Store Greeters PERSONAL shopping cart. Employee says anyone else comes over here I'm sending them back to a register. Greeter says...haha...just me. I ask for a Store Manager. I'm told she is in her office while the store is in total melt down chaos. 8. Talked to Manager Keondra and asked why is the self check out section closed down when it could be checking out 8 or more people at the same time. Was told because they ran out of register paper. I just smh.... 9. Saw Manager Tia and asked same question. She said it was a business decision.....I just smh 10. When leaving saw Manager Keondra again and said LOOK AT YOUR STORE!!!!!! UPDATE: Store is better stocked, but a lot of EXPIRED produce. Employees on merchandise side just standing fiddling with one product on the shelf, obviously wasting time and collecting a paycheck for doing almost nothing. Give them a 'specific task(s)' to get done on their shift or get fired. Open up the job for someone who wants to work for pay. ORIGINAL POST: Disappointing as usual. Shelves need restocking, store is a wreck and customer service is a joke....You have to go with no expectations and know you are on your own.

IF YOU DON’T WANT TO WORK GO HOME!!! THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THAT I WENT TO WALMART AND THIS LADY HAS BEEN DOING NOTHING BUT BEING THERE LOOKING STUPID. SHE DOESEN’T WANT TO HELP NOBODY ALWAYS LOOKING AT PEOPLE WITH A FACE OF DISGUST IF YOU DONT NEED TO WORK GO HOME , BUT BEEING RUDE TO PEOPLE FOR 0 REASONS IS ALL SHE DOES , ITS CRAZY HOW NOBODY DO NOTHING ABOUT IT. last time that I went there.
